The first pictures of Killers of the Flower Moon, the new film by Martin Scorsese, were unveiled on Thursday. Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro and Lily Gladstone appear in the credits of this epic western.
Inspired by a true story and based on the best-selling book of the same title written by David Grann, Killers of the Flower Moon chronicles the violence that befell the Osage Indigenous Nation in Missouri after an oil boom. The sudden wealth of this people has indeed attracted its share of thugs who have stopped at nothing, even murder, to extract money from them.
At the heart of the story, an “unlikely” romance between a white man, Ernest Burkhart (Leonardo DiCaprio) and a Osage woman, Mollie Kyle (Lily Gladstone). Robert De Niro, who has shot more than 10 films with Scorsese, Jesse Plemons and Brendan Fraser are also part of the cast of this feature film produced by Apple Original Films and whose screenplay is by Eric Roth (Dune, Munich, Forest Gump) .
Killers of the Flower Moon will be released on October 6, before being offered worldwide on the Apple TV+ platform.
