Due to the health crisis in France, the rules are getting tougher in the ski resorts of Savoie. Example in Valmorel.
On new posters that appeared on the morning of Saturday, December 25, the message is clear: wearing a mask outdoors becomes compulsory in all the streets of the ski resort of Valmorel (Savoie). It was a measure already introduced on ski lifts. “If there is a rebound, indeed it must be worth it to impose it on people at least for the holidays”, says one skier interviewed.
More than 80% of the accommodation is reserved for next week in Valmorel. The massive arrival of tourists raises fears of a potential epidemic rebound. There are 896 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in Savoie, almost 50% more than the national average. To avoid gatherings, it will no longer be allowed to consume alcohol after 4 p.m. in ski resorts. Customers of some bars will no longer be able to drink while standing. The police are also increasing the checks on health passes: more than 10,000 since the opening of stations in Savoie.
