As Europe faces a major epidemic rebound, some countries have taken drastic measures. Austria has decided since November 15 to confine its unvaccinated population.

Since Monday, November 15 and for a period of at least ten days, unvaccinated Austrians must stay at home. Going to work or shopping are the only exceptions to this rule. Containment applied to the unvaccinated is a first in Europe. A decision that divides the population of Vienna (Austria). Some believe that this is the only way to stem the crisis, others find it very damaging.

Since November 15, the police have been carrying out unannounced checks. Those who do not respect the rule risk fines of up to 1,450 euros. In Austria, only 65% of the population is vaccinated and the country records nearly 12,000 new cases of covid-19 each day. The government has also decided to speed up the vaccination plan and would consider a curfew for the entire population. New decisions should be taken Wednesday November 17th.
