Italy has one of the highest vaccination rates in Europe and yet the epidemic is on the rise. So the government tightens the screw. Since Monday, December 6, non-vaccinated people are no longer allowed to go to certain places, such as cinemas and restaurants. ita

To take public transport, go to the bar or to the cinema in Italy, you will now need to be in possession of the “super green pass”, a document attesting to a vaccination against Covid-19 or a cure. The Italian government tightened the screw on the unvaccinated on Monday, December 6.

Checks are carried out by the police in the places concerned to encourage the last recalcitrant to be vaccinated. “We control the main metro stations. So far the citizens have been very cooperative, we have only issued one fine.”, underlines Stefano Napoli, Deputy Chief of Police in Rome. More than 74% of the Italian population presents a complete vaccination. With these new measures, the government hopes to save the holiday season.
