New research began on the morning of Monday, September 26 in the investigation for “sequestration” and “concealment of corpse” of Françoise Hohmann, learned franceinfo and France Bleu Alsace from sources close to the file, confirming information from RTL.
According to information from franceinfo, the technical and scientific police made findings in a former Strasbourg apartment that Jean-Marc Reiser occupied in the 1980s, when Françoise Hohmann disappeared.
Jean-Marc Reiser is still at the heart of this investigation, even if for lack of evidence, the Alsatian had been acquitted of the murder of the young woman in 2001 by the Assize Court of Bas-Rhin.
More than 30 years after the unexplained disappearance of the 23-year-old sales representative, in September 1987, the Strasbourg public prosecutor’s office had reopened the file in February 2020 with Jean-Marc Reiser, last client of the young VRP, still in sight.
Certain “similarities” with the murder of Sophie Le Tan were noted by the lawyer for the relatives of Françoise Hohmann. Jean-Marc Reiser, 61, was sentenced in July 2022 by the Assizes of Bas-Rhin to life imprisonment with 22 years of security for the assassination of Sophie Le Tan. He appealed his conviction.
