In Moselle, the news has just fallen: a photovoltaic panel factory will see the light of day. This is encouraging news since it will create 1,700 jobs.

If for the time being in Hambach in Moselle, we can only see an empty plateau. Soon, a giant factory of photovoltaic panels will be installed on 33 hectares. “There it was three, four years that we waited for a project to come and settle. There is more than 700 million investment and 1700 jobs are planned”, launches the mayor of the municipality of Hambach (Moselle) where the land is located. This news learned, Sunday, May 14, rejoices him, especially since a first solar panel project had been abandoned at the beginning of the year. “It’s still employment, we are still in a basin where there are more than 7% of unemployed”he adds.

The residents rejoice

However, the territory has other factories. The announcement of a new factory installation is a welcome for the inhabitants of the surrounding area, particularly in Sarreguemines (Moselle), where the news has spread. “It’s great, for the city of Sarreguemines, it will give a boost! It’s perfect!”, commented a resident. Still, some people wonder: “Is it going to last? This is once again the problem…It’s not all about settling in, it’s about seeing the long term“, raises a passerby. But to see the factory set up and the opening of these new jobs, it will be necessary to wait until 2025.
