In Russia, President Vladimir Putin still strives to silence any dissenting voices. On Thursday, December 28, two Russians were sentenced to prison for writing a poem against the war in Ukraine.
In the dock, two Russian poets. They were sentenced by a court to five and a half and seven years in prison for reading a text against the war in Ukraine in a public square in Moscow (Russia). Tried for inciting hatred with the aim of committing activities against the security of the State, the verdict did not surprise them. Present at the hearing, relatives and supporters of the two poets expressed their anger as soon as this verdict was announced.
A relative of Alexeï Navalny sentenced
No tolerance from the Russian authorities. Since the start of the war in Ukraine, those in power have arrested and condemned all those who dare to criticize or challenge them.
