New | Miss Rosa, little sister of India Rosa

Lovers of sophisticated, original and well-knit cocktails, here is Mlle Rosa: little sister and neighbor of the famous India Rosa, for long 5 to 7s or to extend your evenings (with drinks, of course!).

Opened a month ago on Mont-Royal Avenue, across from Rouge Gorge, this latest project from the Sandhu family (who have also just opened Guru, an Indian bistro on Rue Saint-Denis), is first and foremost a bar.

In a vast setting that looks like an indoor garden, we come to sip original creations from manager and mixologist Kevin Ramos. Special mention to the signature cocktails with jasmine tea (notably this “Rêve de Jasmine”, based on Japanese whisky, chartreuse and amaretto, served like a tea, which releases an impressive vapor when served). The drinks menu is generous, creative and well-stocked. It really takes you on a journey.

To accompany it all, the snack menu, designed by the chef of India Rosa, offers several new tapas to share, always with an Indian touch (but not only): seafood ceviche (with roasted cumin seeds), old-fashioned summer salad (with pistachios), kofta (vegetable balls) with India Rosa’s delicious butter sauce, without forgetting, our favorite, the famous dahi puri, these delicate shells stuffed with chickpeas.

Also worth a try: fried calamari, lamb chops and the catch of the day, a lightly pan-fried fish. It’s not cheap, but it’s definitely original, and the plates are also very well-crafted: small appetites will get by for around $30 per person, cocktails not included (starting at $14).

Please note: the terrace here is reserved for the big sister, the India Rosa restaurant; for Miss Rosa, it’s inside that it happens.

From 4pm every day. DJ on weekends.
