New | Lebanese brunch at Shay’s

Open since last February in the beautiful space – completely renovated – which once hosted the Hvor and then Asado restaurants, the Shay had charmed us a lot during our first visit, when the restaurant was in take-out mode, with its delicious dishes. Lebanese, but with a very modern approach, and inspirations that draw from other cuisines – French, Italian and American, among others.

Now the Griffintown establishment led by the Lebanese chef Joseph Awad (Buonanotte, Pied de Cochon, Damas…) has launched its Sunday brunches a few weeks ago.

Once again, we were not disappointed. The menu, very tempting and inviting, is divided between more traditional dishes such as shakchouka, with its perfect flowing egg at 65 ℃ and its spicy tomato sauce, or the plate combining fried egg and lamb shawarma style, very tasty.

The biggest appetites will appreciate the Middle Eastern variation of the famous fried chicken and waffles, with shish-taouk style chicken, and the sweet teeth will be delighted with the French toast with challah and its whipped butter, or even the healthiest cheese parfait. whipped labneh with fresh fruit and granola.

Add to that a mimosa or another cocktail with sunny flavors, and here is a great way to start your Sunday!
