(Newark) Forward Dawson Mercer agreed to a three-year, $12 million contract with the New Jersey Devils on Friday.
Mercer had 20 goals and 33 points last season.
He then took part in 82 of his team’s regular season matches – as in the two previous campaigns.
The Newfoundland and Labrador hockey player set a career high with four power-play goals.
Mercer has 64 goals and 131 points in the NHL, over 246 games.
He added three goals and seven points in 12 playoff games.
New Jersey drafted him 18th overalle in total in 2020.
