A Southwest Airlines plane had to turn around. A piece of the hood came off and hit the wing of the aircraft during takeoff on Sunday April 7. A new incident which marks a black series for Boeing.
Big scare for passengers of a Boeing after a piece of the engine cover came off. “I heard someone say ‘there’s a problem with the plane’. It was just a man who said that. I wondered if it was serious or not and then another lady said ‘we have to turn around'”, explains a passenger. On board the plane: 135 passengers and six crew members. The pilot quickly contacted the control tower. The incident occurred on Sunday April 7 above Denver. After making a loop, the aircraft landed safely at the airport.
Chain incidents
“It was an amazing experience. I didn’t really realize it until I got off the plane,” said one passenger. The regulatory authority has opened an investigation to determine the reasons for this incident. For several months, Boeing has been accumulating setbacks with these planes. In January, a door was torn off in mid-flight. And a few weeks ago, a Boeing 777 lost a wheel on takeoff.
