New in Griffintown | Le Petit Dep thinks big

In 2016, Le Petit Dep opened on rue Saint-Paul, in the heart of Old Montreal. With its Instagrammable aqua green facade, its retro charm, its stalls filled with pretty (100% Quebec) gourmet products, stationery or decoration and its counter where you can order a third-wave type coffee, it quickly became a popular place, both by Montrealers than by tourists.

Owner Magda Slezak (also founder of Magenta Studio Photo) has since grown, with the opening of new locations on rue Saint-Sulpice, then at Carrefour Laval.

With this fourth branch, located this time in Griffintown, Le Petit Dep is no longer so “small”, as it now has several seats where you can stop to sip a coffee (Pista roaster), order a sandwich or a salad, work or study quietly, seven days a week.

The place, nestled on the first floor of the Kander building, has a lot of charm with its design, made in
collaboration with Thomas Csano (Le Majestique, Le Darling) and Lysanne Pépin (Espace Pépin), its heterogeneous decoration, its retro furniture, its green plants and its space bathed in natural light.

Another novelty: the aperitif is now on the menu with a selection of house cocktails, wines and beers, to accompany nibbles and fine products from here, which you will be placed on a board, casually.

Despite the endless works in the area that will have you going around in circles for a while looking for parking, here is a great address to discover, ideally… on foot!

300, rue de la Montagne, Montreal
