The manager relies on trust, and in any case, he does not see how to do more: “I am on my own, I do not have the means, knowing that because of Covid-19 I have already had to lay off my two employees. We cannot carry out systematic checks”, says Cédric Dejonghe, manager of “Freestyle fitness”.

The regulars are satisfied. “I prefer that there be the establishment of a vaccination pass and that we can continue to train, rather than everything stopping”, says one of them. The vaccination pass is also necessary to drink a coffee. In the only tobacco bar in town, the manager will intensify controls, even if it means wasting time. The tightening of the rules does not disturb its consumers, for whom “it doesn’t change much”. In the event of an infringement, a fine of 1,000 euros, instead of the current 135 euros, may be imposed.
