One week before Christmas and as France is at the peak of the fifth wave of Covid-19, the Prime Minister has announced new measures. The tenant of Matignon announced that a bill to transform the health pass into a vaccination pass is being studied and will be submitted to Parliament in early January. Another measure is to shorten the time to perform the booster dose. Until then, it was five months after the last injection and the government plans, from January 3, to reduce this period to 4 months.
These measures are taken to prevent an outbreak of sick from Covid-19 at the hospital where, currently, 2,800 people are hospitalized. In addition, the arrival of the Omicron variant in France could increase this figure to 4,000 by the end of the year. On the front line, caregivers will benefit from an increase in the amount of overtime. Indeed, from Monday, this amount will be doubled. Concerts and fireworks will be banned on December 31. Finally, the government encouraged the French to get tested before taking advantage of their loved ones during this holiday season.
