Now an essential place of culture, the former submarine base in Bordeaux unveils to the public the brand new exhibitions stamped Bassins des Lumières. Until January 2, 2023, this setting steeped in history will take you on a journey around “Venice, the most serene” and “Sorolla, walks by the sea”.
Destination Venice for the new Bassins de Lumières exhibition!
After Monet, Chagall and Renoir, the Bassins de Lumières offers you a new immersive exhibition of a new kind. Projected on the walls of the Submarine Base, works by artists such as Tintoretto, Bellini or Canaletto will transport you to the exceptional universe that is Venice. On the program: stroll along the Grand Canal, the alleys and squares, buildings and churches, but also for a walk through Byzantine art and the Basilica of Saint Mark under the baton of the artistic creator, Gianfranco Iannuzzi. Make way for the riches offered by this infinite theme around locks, large mooring buoys but also through the unique experience of the Cube.
Go for “seaside walks” with Sorolla
As for each of its exhibitions, the Bassins de Lumières also offers a short program. This time, the artist Joaquin Sorolla is in the spotlight with his “promenades by the sea”.
