For the fourth time in 10 days, a patient with psychiatric disorders, considered dangerous, escaped from an establishment in Toulouse (Haute-Garonne). The Occitanie Regional Health Agency has launched an investigation.

Vigilance is reinforced around the Gérard Marchant hospital in Toulouse (Haute-Garonne), Saturday January 29. On the evening of Friday, January 28, a patient ran away from the psychiatric ward. This is the fourth in 10 days. The man considered dangerous is 43 years old. In 2011, he was indicted for rape before being declared criminally irresponsible in 2014 and hospitalized.

This evening, he is still wanted by the police and security has been reinforced in front of the hospital. This new fugue raises questions. Already, last week, a man nicknamed the “cannibal of the Pyrenees” escaped before attacking a passer-by in the streets of Toulouse. Then Sunday, January 23, another patient involved in a homicide disappeared. Both men have since been arrested. The Regional Health Agency has announced stricter controls inside the hospital.
