Nearly 40 years later, the circumstances of the death of young Grégory Villemin, in 1984, remain unknown. At the request of the courts, new expertise will be carried out on the DNA found on the body, and the letters sent by the crow.
Grégory Villemin’s anorak, his chin, but also the cords which were on his body: on these elements, several DNA had been found, during the discovery of the little boy, found dead drowned in Vologne (Vosges), on 16 October 1984. Nearly 40 years later, these DNAs will be compared again. The courts have just ordered, at the request of the child’s parents, new expertise to try to identify the murderer.
New analyzes on the raven letters
Marie-Christine Chastand-Morand, the lawyer for the Villemin family, says she is satisfied with this decision. She also talks about the calls the couple received from a crow. “There are recordings of the raven under seal”underlines the lawyer, asking “feasibility expertise” to find out if current techniques would allow “to make comparisons” between these audio sequences and the old testimonies “family members in the media”. The letters sent by the crow will also be analyzed, in particular those of October 16, 1984, the day of Grégory Villemin’s death.
