The Champagnolais continues to shine on this Biathlon World Cup. With his composure and his power on the skis, Quentin Fillon Maillet clinched another victory in the sprint (10 km) of Ruhpolding, Germany, Thursday January 13. Imperial behind the rifle, the French driver completed the perfect race, with a clear round against the targets (10/10) to sign his 10th varriere victory on the circuit.
He ranks just ahead of Benedikt Doll (+ 7”2) and Anton Smolski (+ 32”1). A sprint that allows him above all to widen the gap on his pursuers in the general classification (521 points in total), including Emilien Jacquelin (2nd, 449 points).

“I left mentally in the right conditions. The fact that Emilien leaves before, it gives a line of sight to go and look. I was not afraid of the shots, on the skis either. I am very satisfied with my race”, declared the winner of the day at the microphone of the channel L’Équipe, with discreet joy.
For his part, the Isérois completely missed out on his sprint and still cannot refuel on shots (6/10). After a 4/5 on the prone shot, it came out to 2/5 on the standing. An insufficient result to grab the podium.
Note also the superb race of young Eric Perrot (20), who landed an incredible 10/10 on shots for his seventh World Cup start. He who had never done better than 36th during his small career won his first Top 10 by finishing 8th.
“I’m really happy to have had a full race”, reacted the young biathlete at the microphone of the channel L’Équipe. “It’s pure delight. I want to raise my level, to succeed in finding better things from a technical point of view. I take today’s race as a great benchmark race.“
Simon Desthieux ends up just behind, in 9th position. The other big favorites, Sebastian samuelsson (2nd in sprint and 3rd overall) and Alexandr Loginov (3rd in sprint), respectively finished 18th and 29th.
