The first tear-resistant tights (Sheertex brand), which came on the market about five years ago, cost more than $100. Today, you can regularly buy them on clearance on the internet or turn to another local brand, Signé Sarah, which recently launched its affordable version of stockings that resist everything.
Founded in 2021, Sarah Herscheid’s company first sold durable tights. Ripstops have only been on the market for a few months.
Made of nylon and spandex, they are designed with innovative European weaving technology. Perhaps to guarantee a still reasonable price ($34.99), the model is simple, with a fairly thin waist band and without sheathing.
It is nevertheless rather comfortable. I haven’t done the test, but it seems that a tear in the material can be repaired by simply manipulating the fabric to put it back in place.
First offered only in black and flesh, the tights are now also available in red, ivory and navy blue. From small to 4XL, the size chart is very inclusive.
