25 days of strike at the Bonnefon clinic in Alès and still no way out of the conflict on the horizon. Three negotiation meetings were held this week but without success. In question according to the strikers, the management of a private clinic belonging to the Elsan group – including the 3 Nîmes clinics) more attached “to make cash” than giving staff the means to “do one’s job properly“. An emblematic file taken up by the departmental CGT which calls for a new demonstration in front of the establishment at the end of the morning this Saturday.
A licensed whistleblower?
For almost a month, they have been around twenty employees (many caregivers) to gather every day in front of the Alesian establishment. Distribution of leaflets to the population, honks in exchange. A mobilization certainly not in the majority but, we are assured, many of the non-striking staff (including doctors) would support the protest movement. It seems to be taking a new turn when, according to Hella Kherief, spokesperson for the strikers (and whistleblower, she was one of the first to denounce the Orpea scandal) was threatened – verbally – with being fired without any procedure legal. “_I have the evidence, I recorded everything and I intend to use it”.
We are going to put the Elsan group in the national spotlight
The departmental CGT which denounces “a group, a real cash machine“seized this file. It calls for a new rally this Saturday in front of the Bonnefon clinic (procedure to follow and end of the rally in front of the sub-prefecture of Alès). A previous rally had brought together 500 people, (300 according to the police). In front of the will of the management “to dismiss a whistleblower“, the tone rises. His departmental secretary, Bruno Rivier, is in contact with Philippe Martinez who would be “very attentive to what is happening in Alès“The Conflict in Becoming”emblematic of a company that favors money to the detriment of everyone’s health“would take a new turn.
