The post-fascist party Fratelli d’Italia won the legislative elections in Italy on Sunday 25 September. Its leader Giorgia Meloni will certainly be appointed Prime Minister.

“Never in history has an extremist orientation brought well-being, happiness and fulfillment to a people”, warns François Bayrou this Monday, September 26 on franceinfo, after the victory of the post-fascist party of Giorgia Meloni on Sunday in the legislative elections in Italy. The president of the Modem considers possible the arrival of the far right to power in France “And this [serait] something extremely negative”according to him.

François Bayrou says observe “a wave, a drift” extremist in Europe. The High Commissioner for Planning recognizes that there is a “great concern among the peoples” to which “you have to answer”. According to him, this concern “is due to questions of identity and the difficulties that democracy has in responding to the sometimes burning expectations of peoples”.

He thus quotes “the National Refoundation Council” (CNR), of which he is the chairman, as “answer” to citizens’ concerns.
