Valse Fréquence is discreetly back with its latest EP, Never to forget you. Precisely, the new music of the Montreal duo formed by Thomas Léger, on vocals and drums, and by guitarist Anne-Marie Milev is a soft and cold rock which nevertheless leaves an impression. The title which gives its name to this mini-album produced by Emmanuel Éthier begins with a catchy riff followed by a movement of the singer’s voice – which evokes that of Matthieu Chedid who would have transformed into an introvert – just as heady . Same for the rest: Mirage, Glass Prison or Devil are pieces all so well composed and written that they reveal a group with a promising future. If the end of love is an inexhaustible theme for musicians, Valse Fréquence makes it through the songs of Never forget you something melancholy nebulous, sometimes almost warm and sensual thanks to Anne-Marie Milev’s guitar.
