Netflix unveiled its list of new feature films for 2023 on Wednesday. The platform will add 49 titles to its catalog.
Some of the most anticipated films over the next few months include The Killer, a drama directed by David Fincher with among others Michael Fassbender and Tilda Swinton (November 10). Dev Patel’s first film, Monkey Man ; Maestro ; Bradley Cooper’s film on Leonard Bernstein; and patcha biopic directed by George C. Wolfe about the strategist and close adviser to Martin Luther King, Jr, Bayard Rustin, who initiated the 1963 March on Washington. As an openly gay black man, the activist was stricken from the movement civil rights that he helped build. Colman Domingo and Chris Rock are part of the cast.
The gifted filmmaker Wes Anderson will bring to the screen short stories from writer Roald Dahl (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory). His film is yet to be titled and will star Benedict Cumberbatch, Dev Patel and Ralph Fiennes. Leave the World Behind, a thriller with Julia Roberts, Ethan Hawke and Mahershala Ali will be available on the platform from December 8. A month before, a new comedy with Nicole Kidman, Joey King and Zac Efron, entitled A Family Affair, is scheduled for November.
The action movie Rebel Moon by Zack Snyder will be the big Netflix novelty of Christmas 2023. Its launch has been set for December 22.
