Nepalese mercenaries, present on the ground during the war in Ukraine, testify and try to dissuade them when returning to their country.
They share their experience on social networks. Nepalese volunteers, who went to fight in the trenches in Ukraine. Some wear Russian uniforms, other mercenaries fight on the opposing side, on the Ukrainian side. Their motivation: money. “We have very little money in Nepal, that’s why it’s very difficult. We have no other choice but to join the Russian army”says a Nepalese.
2,000 euros per month
A man, who prefers to testify with a hidden face, returns from the front. He came home injured, but does not regret his choice. He signed up because he received nearly 2,000 euros per month of combat, or ten times the salary in Nepal: “I had loans to pay for the house, and I didn’t have enough money. Joining the Russian army was not because I wanted to, but my situation forced me to do so.“
