Camille Lacourt is the proud father of two children, Marius, the little boy born from his current relationship with Alice Detollenaere, But also a little girl Jazz, born from his relationship with Valérie Bègue in 2012. A six-year relationship, during which he learned to change, to become a husband, a dad. But a relationship of six beautiful years, which finally ended.
Invited in front of the Instagram Kool Mag media cameras, the former swimmer returned to the difficult separation “The separation with the mother of my daughter was very violent for me”, and the abandonment of the former Miss France, who took off, “I was unhappy, she was unhappy, my couple didn’t make it”.
A stage of his life that he experienced as a real test: “There was a month where I think I hit depression. My friends were coming… I was drinking beer after beer for three or four days. I really needed to drink beers to sleep at night, not to talk”. Fortunately, thanks to his friends, to his strength of spirit, “My friends were waiting for it to pass… And then I told myself that I had to stop. Otherwise we can’t make it!”, but also thanks to his job, thanks to sport, “I said to myself: ‘You are lucky to have the sport to get out of it, take it!'”, Camille Lacourt finally managed to get her head above water.
Finally, today, and with hindsight and his new life, the sportsman takes this step with humor and says that he said to himself: “If you had continued the beers, you would have arrived with a belly at the Olympics!” although he had not yet qualified.
