Necessary decarbonization | The duty

A significant fraction of Canadian society refuses to take up the climate challenge. It simply favors economic development, the cult of businessmen. The evil effects that threaten the quality of life of earthly existence are inevitable. Wildfires, droughts, floods, growing food supply challenges, health problems and now, human death itself are ringing the alarm bells. Heat is the plague, last cry, of Humanity. […]

In Canada, the climate-indifferent even form a political party: the country’s official opposition. As for the ecological discourse, its declarations of principle and its innumerable anecdotal digressions obscure the essential: a fundamental structural change in the Canadian economy and the rationalization of domestic oil consumption, which amounts to giving it up. Achieving carbon neutrality with “clean” hydrocarbons is the wish of all societies in the world, but meanwhile, GHG emissions are on the rise. It’s bla-bla.

The decarbonization of our economy is necessary. […] Whatever our behavior, we are shaping a future today that the youngest among us may see.
