New success for the Telethon. The 2023 edition raised 92,905,533 euros, a little more than 12 million more than the pledges carried out during the television event organized on December 8 and 9 2023, according to figures published Thursday March 28 by the AFM-Téléthon association. This is two million more than in 2022, and the best result since 2015. These donations will make it possible to finance research and the development of new therapies for myopathies, and in particular rare diseases, 95% of which remain without treatment, or even without diagnosis.

“Thank you very much to all the donors, volunteers, partners, artists, hosts and France Télévisions teams, and to our sponsor, Vianney, who made this Telethon 2023 a success”, rejoiced Laurence Tiennot-Herment, president of the AFM-Téléthon. For her part, the CEO of France Télévisions, Delphine Ernotte Cunci, welcomed “an edition of exceptional support for the Telethon”.

This 37th edition, placed under the sign of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, mobilized more than 200,000 volunteers and has been implemented in more than 10,000 municipalities. The 2024 Telethon will take place on November 29 and 30, a little earlier than usual due to the numerous events organized on the occasion of the reopening of Notre-Dame de Paris, scheduled for December 7 and 8.
