nearly 7,000 home-work carpools made since May 2021

During the Laval Agglomeration community council, this Monday, January 31, 2022, the elected officials drew up an initial assessment of the Klaxit experiment. Launched in May 2021, the operation consists of promoting home-work carpooling. Concretely, the carpooler is partly remunerated by Laval Agglo on the routes he offers. However, the trip is free for the carpool worker.

For eight months, 6,907 carpooling trips have been made and 1,364 employees in the Laval agglomeration are currently registered on the Klaxit platform. According to Isabelle Fougeray, vice-president in charge of Transport at Laval Agglo, there have been since May 2021 “3,668 fewer vehicles on the roads (…) Klaxit has created a real dynamic in Mayenne“.

Large associated companies

Initially, five companies joined the experiment: Noz, Bridor, Mann Hummel, SNV and the Laval hospital centre. In November 2021, the Lactalis group, Séché Environnement, Thalès, Valéo, Laval Agglo and Wilo joined the experiment. Just over 20,000 euros are invested by Laval Agglo in this experiment.
