Nearly 3,000 police and gendarmerie operations against urban rodeos have been carried out since August 8, Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin announced on TwitterTuesday, August 16.
In 7 days, 2914 anti-rodeo operations carried out, 338 arrested, 157 seized. I have given instructions to further intensify our action. More than 42,000 people have been checked over the past week, leading to 338 arrests and the seizure of 157 scooters and motorcycles, according to figures from the minister. The intensification of controls against urban rodeos, announced after an accident which seriously injured a young girl in Val-d’Oise, will continue according to Gérald Darmanin: “Starting tomorrow, each police station will carry out at least three anti-rodeo operations a day”, specifies the mayor of Tourcoing. More than 80 operations will also be carried out from Tuesday evening on the whole of the Paris agglomeration, explained the police headquarters on Twitter.
