An undeclared rave party has brought together between 1,500 and 2,000 people at the Col d’Arron, in the town of L’Épine, since Saturday April 22, reports the Hautes-Alpes prefecture. The participants arrived on the spot in the evening, and up to 500 vehicles were identified by the authorities. The latter have found, at this stage, neither disturbance to public order (the place of the festival located at altitude is far from any dwelling), nor damage, nor medical care.

About forty gendarmes were dispatched to this natural site, which overlooks the forest. The police were waiting for a green light from the prosecution on Sunday to carry out blood alcohol and narcotics checks on the roads of the Hautes-Alpes and neighboring Drôme, added the prefecture.

At midday on Sunday, the first attendees began to leave the premises and some of them indicated that the rave party was to end in the afternoon. For their part, the gendarmes had not yet been able to establish contact with the organizers at this time.
