Affected by the health crisis and the many travel restrictions, locally and internationally, the tourism sector will benefit from state support, to the tune of 1.9 billion euros.

It is a big recovery plan that the government wants to put in place in order to save the tourism sector, severely affected by the health crisis and international travel restrictions. The stimulus plan mentioned by the government would benefit from a budget of 1.9 billion euros, including 1.3 billion euros coming from loans. Although still the most visited country in the world each year, France is not the champion of the benefits linked to tourism.

In terms of international revenue, France ranks third among the countries with the most tourism-related benefits, behind Spain and the United States. The envelope of nearly 2 billion euros will be used to promote France abroad and give a facelift to aging hotel establishments, not to mention the greening of certain transport. “France is a real excellence in terms of tourism”, notes Vanguélis Panayotis, president of MKG Consulting. Excellence to be maintained by recruiting qualified personnel, while thousands of jobs are to be filled.
