The Russian Defense Ministry is hosting a military-related patriotic event this week not far from Moscow. Inaugurated by Vladimir Putin himself, this show honors the armed forces that the country wants bigger than ever, and capable of winning.

Every year, the Russian army forum is organized on the outskirts of Moscow. This “patriotic park”, that’s its name, is designed like a real amusement park, with restaurants and mascots.
Except that here, the main attractions are tanks on which children and adults enjoy climbing. Svetlana’s 8-year-old child jumps from a huge missile launcher: “We want our son to become a real man, to be able to protect his country“, proudly explains the mother of the family. A group of soldiers advances towards the public and simulates hand-to-hand combat. The spectators are delighted.
In the spans of the forum, it’s business time for the many international experts. Featured this year, Iran, present for the first time in this show. The country is said to be training Russian soldiers to use its drones. As we know, this weapon has a key role in the Ukrainian conflict. An Iranian representative welcomes this relationship: “We brought some of our missiles, anti-drone missiles, but also long-range missiles. We also present drones that remained in Iran.“
A few kilometers away, a “tank biathlon” is also organized. Twelve invited countries compete there. In eight years of military games, Russia has never conceded a single victory to its partners.
