The Warriors only needed five games to prevail. They will face the winner of the series between the Boston Celtics and the Miami Heat. The Celtics lead the series 3-2.

Klay Thompson was brilliant with 32 points in the win. Canadian Andrew Wiggins followed with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Draymond Green had 17 points while Stephen Curry had 15.

After a slow start, Luka Doncic gave the Mavericks a chance and finished with 28 points. Spencer Dinwiddie totaled 26 points in the loss.

After missing the playoffs in 2020 and 2021 in an injury-ridden season, the Warriors are back in familiar territory. It is the first team to reach six NBA Finals in eight years since Michael Jordan’s Chicago Bulls won the Larry O’Brien Trophy from 1991 to 1993 and again from 1996 to 1998.
