(San Antonio) Victor Wembanyama’s NBA debut is expected this summer in Las Vegas.
The San Antonio Spurs announced Wednesday that Wembanyama, the No. 1 overall pick in the most recent NBA Draft, will be a part of the Summer League team, which begins July 7.
Wembanyama will not accompany Spurs when they travel to Sacramento later this week for the California Classic — the club’s first of two summer league appearances next month. The Spurs summer team will play games in Sacramento on July 3 and 5 before heading to Las Vegas.
Wembanyama will join the squad in Las Vegas, Spurs have revealed. He is expected to start training with summer training in San Antonio later this week.
The Spurs begin their series of games in Las Vegas on July 7 — in a game against the Charlotte Hornets in which Wembanyama could take on Brandon Miller, the second overall pick.
Wembanyama is also set to make an appearance in Las Vegas on July 8, at the inaugural NBA event.
