Word had been around for a few days, but NBA Canada made the official announcement on Wednesday morning.
The match will be held as part of the Canada Series, which hasn’t taken place since 2019.
The Raptors will first face the Utah Jazz at Rogers Place in Edmonton on October 2. This will be the first time the Alberta Amphitheater has hosted an NBA game. The Toronto team will then head to Montreal to face the Celtics. It will be the sixth NBA game in the metropolis since 2012.
This means that Montrealers will be able to encourage Quebecers Chris Boucher and Khem Birch, both members of the Raptors. Among the Celtics, there are in particular Jayson Tatum, who was named on the first team of stars in 2022, Jaylen Brown and Marcus Smart.
“It’s so great to be able to play in front of our fans across Canada,” Raptors general manager Bobby Webster said. We can’t wait to get back to Montreal and play at Rogers Place for the first time. It’s a fantastic reminder, as we start a new season, that we are Team Canada. We want to make Raptors fans proud no matter where they cheer us on. »
Basketball fans will be able to purchase tickets on the NBA website starting August 19.
