NBA | Stephen Curry is the player of the year in tough situations

Stephen Curry added another trophy to his collection, after being the most productive in the NBA in tight ends this season.

Curry was announced as the NBA’s player of the year in this regard, adding to a list of achievements that includes two MVP awards and a Finals MVP award.

The award is named after Curry’s well-known Jerry West. He was once an advisor for the Warriors.

“When you see him in person, you realize how much basketball means to him, how competitive he is, how much he wants to win, no matter what his position,” Curry said of West to TNT when the award was revealed on Thursday.

“It marked our organization during this period. Every time Jerry West says something, you listen. »

The other finalists were DeMar DeRozan of the Chicago Bulls and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Curry led the league with 189 points when things heated up late in games.

The NBA defines the category as points in the last five minutes of the final quarter or in overtime, when a club has a lead of no more than five points.

A member of four championship teams with Golden State, Curry will play for the United States at the Paris Olympics this summer.

The prize was awarded for a second time. The first winner was De’Aaron Fox of the Sacramento Kings.

The next award announcement will be Sunday, for Coach of the Year.

The candidates are Mark Daigneault (Oklahoma City), Chris Finch (Minnesota) and Jamahl Mosley (Orlando).
