(San Francisco) As in the first game of the series, the Golden State Warriors took the reins of the game thanks to a good third quarter.

Unlike Game 1, they got the job done.
The 35 points scored in the third quarter allowed the Warriors to thrash the Boston Celtics 107-88 on Sunday to tie the NBA Finals 1-1.
“I think everyone was more invested,” Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said. It’s pretty obvious. Our level of intensity and power was heightened and it had to be. »
The Warriors rightly improved their record to 5-0 after a loss in the 2022 playoffs.
Steve Kerr’s men allowed just 14 in the third quarter and their two-point halftime lead was 23 points going into the fourth quarter.
The Warriors then scored the first six points in the fourth quarter and the Celtics threw in the towel – bringing the substitutes onto the court.
Stephen Curry led the team with 29 points. Besides Curry, four Warriors players have reached the 10-point plateau. Andrew Wiggins and Klay Thompson (11 points), Kevon Looney (12 points) and Jordan Poole (17 points) all participated in the offensive festival.
“We said we had to play with the energy of desperation,” Curry said. That’s what we did. »
Jayson Tatum led the Celtics in scoring with 28 points. Jaylen Brown added 17 points in the loss. Derrick White scored 12 points.
“That’s what it is,” said Celtics’ Al Horford. He had 26 points in Game 1 before being muzzled to just two points on Sunday. “We’re going to focus on Game 3.”
Like the first clash, a good run decided the outcome. The Celtics went on a 48-for-and-only-18-against streak and rode away with the win.
The series will head to Boston for the next two games. The clubs will resume the necklace on Wednesday.
