NBA | Cavaliers tie series 1-1 against Celtics

(Boston) Donovan Mitchell scored 29 points, Evan Mobley added 21 points and 10 rebounds and the Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Boston Celtics 118-94 on Thursday night, tying their second-round series at one win each side.


Two nights after losing by 25 points, and with Mitchell scoring 33 points, the Cavaliers took control in the third quarter and crushed their opponents in turn.

Mitchell scored 16 points in the third quarter, then made three straight three-pointers early in the final quarter to widen the lead.

Jayson Tatum provided 25 points for the Celtics, while Jaylen Brown scored 19. However, Derrick White, who had 25 points in Game 1, was held to 10 points.

White made just one of his eight shots beyond the three-point arc.

The series continues in Cleveland for games three and four on Saturday and Monday.
