Nazairean Bryan Coquard positive for Covid-19 and last minute package

Bryan Coquard will have to wait at least another year to hope to win his first stage victory in the Tour de France. However retained among the riders who were to start of the 109th edition of the Grande Boucle, this Friday in Denmark, the Nazairien was forced to forfeit this Thursday at the end of the morning. He is replaced by Pierre-Luc Périchon.

He tested positive for Covid-19 the day before departure

Tests carried out by the medical team of his Cofidis training revealed that Bryan Coquard had contracted Covid-19. He will therefore not be able to be present at the start of his sixth Tour de France. And take his revenge on the previous edition during which he had suffered a fall during the first stage between Brest and Landerneau, less than six kilometers from the line. Weakened by several fractures, he arrived late during the ninth stage and therefore had to leave the event.
