It’s now official: Nayef Aguerd is no longer a Stade Rennais player. The defender was officially transferred to London club West Ham on Monday. According to multiple sources, the transfer is set to net Stade Rennais more than €30m, as well as bonuses depending on the player’s future performance.
Nayef Aguerd will have spent two seasons at Stade Rennais, after arriving from Dijon in the summer of 2020 for around 5 million euros. Last season, he was one of the most sought-after players in Europe with 55 games played and 4,928 minutes played (club + selection). Only thirteen players have had more playing time than him across the continent. In two seasons, Aguerd will have played 80 games with Rennes, scored 7 goals and delivered 4 assists.
