Alerted, the Spanish rescuers managed to get him out of trouble, Thursday, August 4th. But at the start of the operation, they could not intervene because the sea was rough. At night, finally, a helicopter managed to drop a rescuer on the boat. He knocked on the hull, and perceived a response.
