National road 149 closed in both directions at La Peyratte near Parthenay in Deux-Sèvres since the beginning of the afternoon of Wednesday August 10 due to a fire and smoke which hinders traffic.
The flames reportedly started on the side of the road around 2 p.m. The first assessment reported two hectares burned. “The fire destroyed a barn but the animals were saved. He also approached the building of a grain merchant but there too it was saved”, specifies the mayor of Le Peyratte Jean-Claude Guérin. The fire was still ongoing as of mid-afternoon.
For motorists, a diversion is in place.
