(Saint-Marc-Des-Carrières) A man who was cutting trees on Saturday on land in Saint-Marc-des-Carrières, in the Capitale-Nationale region, got stuck under a tree. Unfortunately, he did not survive.
Emergency services went to a lot on Perreault Avenue around 3:30 p.m. to rescue the man in his 60s. He was extricated and taken to hospital in critical condition. His death was found at the hospital a little later, said a spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), Hélène St-Pierre.
An investigator and a forensic identification technician went to the scene of the accident to better understand the causes and circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
The SQ determined that tree cutting work was in progress when the man got stuck. This is not a work accident.
