The remains of the storm Debby are giving headaches to the organizers of the National Bank Open. All of Friday’s programming is cancelled.
Three matches had already been postponed on Thursday evening due to rain. Thanasi Kokkinakis and Hubert Hurkacz were due to play on centre court, followed by Sebastian Korda and Taylor Fritz. Flavio Cobolli and Arthur Rinderknech were due to do the same on Rogers Court.
The top two seeds were scheduled to play on Friday. Originally, top seed Jannik Sinner was scheduled to face Alejandro Tabilo in the early afternoon. Second seed Alexander Zverev was scheduled to face Holger Dune at 7 p.m.
Under the original plan, the tournament final is scheduled for Monday. Several players in Montreal are hoping to play in the next big tournament, which begins in Cincinnati on Sunday.
