A technical problem paralyzed the banking services of the National Bank on Thursday evening. The issue was resolved in the evening.
The mobile application was notably inaccessible for a few hours at the end of the day on Thursday, it was noted The Press. Online, Internet users quickly reacted, indicating that banking services were down.
“We actually experienced a technical issue at the beginning of the evening,” Alexandre Guay, public affairs advisor for the National Bank, indicated by email. “Our systems are now fully functional,” he added around 9 p.m.
This episode comes after a widespread outage at the Laurentian Bank which lasted four days last week. Remember that according to the management of the Laurentian Bank, a “routine update” in certain computer systems was at the origin of the outage which paralyzed its online services for four consecutive days.
This IT outage notably affected fund transfers, deposits and online bill payments. Credit and debit cards in stores have never stopped being able to be used.
