MEPs are increasingly present on social networks. For parliamentarians, it’s a new way of communicating.

On Twitter, Instagram or TikTok, MPs make extensive use of social networks. Thus, subscribers of parliamentarians can watch videos of heated debates or fiery speeches that took place in the hemicycle. “I also authorize myself to inform directly because there, it is without filter, we communicate directly, quickly with the French, with our voters”assumes Philippe ballarddeputy of RN of the Oise.

For some MPs, social networks are an excellent way to show their disagreement with a law or with political maneuvers. “I am angry and social networks are also that. It is to say what one thinks and I say it. Here, I say what I think, I’m angry, I’m a little disgusted”asserts David Guiraud, MP (Nupes-LFI) North. A video put online by the majority had also marked the spirits since we saw the deputies of the RN and La France insoumise stand up and applaud.
