Through my thanks to ARTV for its broadcast, on August 15, of the show of the Congrès national des Acadiens, I would especially like to point out the freshness, the authentic pride, the diversity, but also the unity of the artists featured in this show. Mixes or alternations of old hands and younger members, traditional music and more modern tunes, individual or collective numbers, this show is among the best of its kind in Canada. Staging, lighting, succession and sequence of artists, stage backdrop, everything integrates and retains interest.
And, beyond all that, a striking illustration of the pride of a people (I refuse to say a minority), a most convincing illustration of cultural and linguistic diversity such as that which UNESCO tries to promote. And, of course, for all of Acadia, that of the North as well as that of the South (a distinction that I have learned).
