Barely 14 spring. We could have dated his debut before or after, so rich is his life as a man and artist. Nathaniel Caperaa is a Franco-American that we meet in Eslourenties-Daban, Limendous, Pontacq. But also in Nashville or New York. An American mom and a French dad help a lot for travel. He also passed through Vienna, Prague, Paris, Washington, London, Tokyo! And then there are the roots. A journalist grandmother for Time Magazine stationed in Paris, opera singer, and a musician grandfather at the Orchester National de France. Very curious about this cultural and intellectual wealth, Nathaniel lives very early, several lives in one. At twelve he left school, and at fourteen, he decided to take guitar lessons.. He composes, he writes, he works constantly and three weeks later, he finds himself on stage in Pontacq, for his first “real concert”, we are in may 2012. So much for the start of his career.
And as in all great stories, there are meetings. For Nathaniel, the first is due to a bunch of friends he meets. One of them introduced him to the Beatles one day. Then Bob Dylan and later David Bowie. Nathaniel is 12 years old. It’s a shock. A slap. Through the Beatles, he understands better what it is made of. He understands better what the inner “little voice” says to him. But he needs more. He asks his parents to bring out CDs and Vinyls, boys from Liverpool, the Rimbaud of Rock and the man with a thousand faces. He immersed himself in magazines, Rolling Stone or Rock & Folk. Little by little, he understands that the little voice that has spoken to him for years is that of his musician grandfather., which he never knew. This is the other meeting. Since then, every time he writes and composes, Nathaniel, makes sure that his grandfather’s photo is next to him, and continues his work.
For style, you don’t have to look very far. Family, roots, cultures, push him towards Folk and Pop, with a disconcerting ease of composition and writing. Nathaniel, already has more than 260 compositions to his credit, an EP released in 2015, and an album in preparation. It will be recorded between Pontacq and Nashville, where the producer become a friend, will propel Nathaniel Caperaa to the heights.
