Natalie Portman will be the guest of honor at the Deauville festival

After Michael Shannon and Jesse Eisenberg, the American film festival of Deauvile (Calvados) honors Natalie Portman. The actress will receive a Deauville Talent Award for her entire career, during the 49th edition of the festival, which will take place from September 1 to 10. At only 42 years old, the actress already has three decades of career under her belt.

The Oscar for best actress in 2011

She took her first steps in the cinema with the Frenchman Luc Besson, in 1994, in Leon. At only 14 years old, she already gives the reply to Jean Reno. Natalie Portman then goes on to collaborate with the biggest names in cinema. George Lucas, Michael Mann, Woody Allen, Tim Burton…

In 2011, it was the consecration: the actress was rewarded with the Oscar and the Golden Globe for best actress for her role as a schizophrenic ballerina in the drama Black Swan, by Darren Aronofsky. The film is a critical and popular success. A few years later, Natalie Portman was again nominated for an Oscar for her role as Jacqueline Kennedy in Pablo Larrain’s biopic, jackie (2017).

During her career, the actress also tried her hand at directing. In 2014, she went behind the camera for her first film: a very personal adaptation ofA story of love and darkness by Israeli poet Amos Oz.

On the boards of Deauville, Natalie Portman will also come to defend her new film, May-December, directed by American Todd Haynes. Release scheduled for January 24, 2024.
