For the past few years, Natalie Portman has been as discreet on the big screen as in life! She made a rare public appearance on Wednesday night. The actress pulled out all the stops to celebrate the launch of a new series on Apple TV+.
Pachinko lands on the streaming service on March 25, 2022! The heroes of the South Korean series celebrated its impending launch on Wednesday evening (March 16, 2022), during a preview at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, in Los Angeles. Natalie Portman went there and caused a stir.
All dressed in red with a blazer worn over the shoulders, a little strapless dress and satin shoes, the 40-year-old actress and wife of Benjamin Millepied chained the poses on the photocall, to the delight of the photographers present. The latter have also seen Ashley Parkrevealed by its role in Emily In Parisand the stars of the series Pachinko including Youn-Yuh jung, Oscar-winning actress for her performance in the film minari.
Pachinko tells the story of four generations of a family of Korean immigrants, who left their native country in search of fulfillment. Sunja (portrayed by Youn-Yuh jung in the stage of old age, Min-ha Kim in the stage of youth, and Jeon Yu-na in the stage of childhood) is the narrator. The series is a bridge between her life as Sunja, which begins in early 20th century South Korea, and that of her grandson Solomon (played by Jin-Ha), in the 1980s.
Natalie Portman’s previous appearance was in October 2021, when the classic Black Swan star supported her husband by attending the 2021 LA Dance Project Annual Gala in Beverly Hills. Jane Fonda, Julie Delpy, Jennifer Gray and Andie MacDowell, director Barry Jenkins (Moonlight), model Sara Sampaio, Paula Abdul, as well as Jodie Foster and her wife, photographer Alexandra Hedison, were also there.
